Peach Coffee Co – Burlington

Happy Sunday, all! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekends. Mine was great because we got to celebrate my Dad’s birthday! He just turned 73…doesn’t he look amazing??

That also gave me an excuse to bake a delicious cake – not that you ever need a reason to bake a cake, but it’s always more special when there’s an occasion to celebrate! I made a German chocolate cake, which has been on my baking bucket list for a long time. It’s a rich chocolate layer cake that has not one, but two different types of frostings: chocolate buttercream and coconut-pecan. I used this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction for the cake itself, and these recipes from Tastes Better From Scratch for the frostings (I doubled the ingredients to have enough for a three-layer cake.) The cake turned out amazing! If you love chocolate, coconut or pecans (or better yet, all three) you will adore this cake. It is so decadent!

Today, I wanted to share a cute spot in Burlington with you all. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you probably know that I love finding great local coffee shops to hang out at. What defines a great coffee shop? Well, in my opinion, it’s a combination of top-notch coffee, delicious pastries, friendly staff and a cute interior. And Peach Coffee Co. ticks all of those boxes!

Peach Coffee Co. is a relatively new addition to Burlingtons’ café scene: they opened their first location in Aldershot on Plains Road in January 2022, which was followed by a second Roseland location (on Guelph Line) in August. I’d heard so many good things about Peach Coffee ever since they opened and had been wanting to check them out, so last month, needing to warm up after a chilly winter walk in our neighbourhood, Tania and I treated ourselves to breakfast at their Roseland location.

The first thing you’ll notice when you walk into Peach Coffee Co. is their décor – it’s SO cute! As you might have guessed, everything is peach-themed, from the peach-patterned wallpaper to the vibrant orange chairs to the peachy-pink flower wall, which is adorned with a neon sign proclaiming “Peach, Love & Happiness.”

Peach Coffee has a variety of espresso- and tea-based drinks to choose from; they also serve matcha, hot chocolate, and just regular brewed coffee or tea. I got a classic latte and Tania had an oat latte – both were strong and delicious, the perfect kick-start to our day!

The baristas write inspiring messages on each coffee cup lid, and you’re free to choose one that suits your mood. I thought this was such a sweet touch!

Because Tania and I often have a tough time choosing between sweet and savoury pastries, we usually get one of each and share – the best of both worlds! We split a cheddar chive scone and an almond croissant. The scone was the definite favourite, but both were delicious.

Peach Coffee Co. is such a great local find, and I’m so glad I finally had the chance to check it out! I’ll definitely be back, and look forward to visiting their original location in Aldershot as well.

Do you have any favourite local coffee shops to recommend? Let me know by commenting or sending me an email – I’d love to hear your suggestions!
