Happy Saturday, friends! I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.
Today’s post is going to be a fun one for my fellow coffee lovers! It also may be a familiar one to long-time blog readers, for a couple of reasons. Back in March of last year, I wrote a post about a fabulous café in Burlington: Peach Coffee Co. At the time, they had two locations in Burlington: one in Aldershot (opened in January 2022) and one in Roseland (August 2022.) Since then, Peach Coffee Co. has expanded their presence across Halton Region with two new locations: one in Oakville and one in Waterdown, the latter of which just opened this May. A few weeks ago, I was planning a coffee date with a friend who lives in Waterdown, and we decided to check out Peach’s newest location!
I’d mentioned that this post may be familiar for two reasons: not only have I featured Peach Coffee Co. before, but their Waterdown location is in the building formerly occupied by The Waterdown Tea House, which I wrote about in August 2022. Sadly, the tea house is no more – the owner made the difficult decision to close up shop and retire – but I’m thrilled to see this gorgeous historic building (a former saddle shop that dates back to the 1880s!) preserved and repurposed for a new life.
There’s a complimentary parking lot in the back, and orders are placed via the takeout window at the west side of the building. They serve a variety of coffee, espresso and tea-based drinks, from cappuccinos and flat whites to chai lattes, matcha lattes and London Fogs (and yes, they have regular old brewed coffee too!) They also serve a selection of baked goods – cookies, scones, croissants, tarts, cakes – and some healthier options like energy bars and homemade yogurt parfaits.
It was a hot day, so my friend and I each ordered an iced coffee. I love fancy flavours, bells and whistles when it comes to lattes and other hot beverages, but when it comes to iced drinks, my tastes lean simple. The coffee was excellent, just like at Peach’s other locations – A+ for consistency! Something else I love that’s found at all locations: the hand-written inspirational messages on each cup lid.
Peach Coffee Co. hasn’t made any significant design changes to the patio since it belonged to the Waterdown Tea House, and honestly, I’m glad for that! The patio was pretty perfect to begin with, and it’s best not to mess with perfection. They have, of course, infused their signature decor elements into every inch of the space. I love the vibrant artwork and the peach patterned curtains!
Rattan furniture and woven pendants give the space a breezy, beachy vibe.
Check out this cozy nook – perfect for curling up with a coffee and a treat on a rainy day!
Peach Coffee Co. shares their space with Bungalo Beach, an independent boutique selling boho, coastal-inspired jewelry, art and home decor. Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to do any shopping, as my friend and I had to run to a wedding dress appointment (more on that later!) but I’ll definitely be back soon to check it out.
In a world where so many small businesses struggle to survive, nothing makes me happier than seeing one not only surviving, but thriving! In Peach Coffee Co.’s case, it’s certainly a well-deserved accomplishment. I can’t wait to see where they open next!
