The Spa At The St. Regis

Happy January, everyone! I hope your new year has gotten off to a great start. I’m just starting to feel like myself again after a nasty bout of norovirus made its way through our household… and honestly? Whatever is going around right now feels less like a flu and more like a full-on demonic possession. I’m only being slightly dramatic, but it was easily the sickest I’ve ever been. I’m so grateful to be feeling semi-human again, and I sincerely hope y’all are staying healthy and germ-free!

I love the fresh start a new year brings, but isn’t it funny how January has this way of encouraging us to be tough on ourselves? From Dry January to 75 Hard, I love the intention… but in one of the coldest, darkest months of the year (not to mention right after the holiday comedown) they can feel a little, well, harsh. Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about making January a month for rest, self-care and being gentle with ourselves, and I couldn’t agree more! You all know I’m big on spa days as a form of self-care, so what better way to start 2026 than with treating yourself to a day of rest and relaxation? Over the holiday break, Tania and I visited The Spa at The St. Regis for the first time, and loved it so much that I knew I had to share it with you all. Peaceful, luxurious, immaculate attention to detail… it might just be my new favourite spa in Toronto!

The spa is located on the 31st floor of Toronto’s luxurious St. Regis Hotel and offers massages, facials, body scrubs, body wraps, manicures and pedicures. The 15,000 square-foot facility has various amenities including a saltwater infinity pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room, and a cozy lounge area where guests can relax between treatments.

When we arrived at the spa, we were taken right to the locker room, which might just be the most beautiful spa locker room I’ve ever seen. The floor-to-ceiling marble, the glossy black subway tile, the rose-tinted mirrors… obsessed with it all!

The vanity area has lots of nice little touches, from eucalyptus-infused towels to individually packaged essentials like shower caps, hair elastics (I always forget mine!) and travel-size hairbrushes.

These plush velour robes feel so luxe, and in my opinion, are much cozier than the standard terry cloth spa robes.

After getting into our robes, we headed to the lounge area to relax before our massages. Decorated in warm neutrals with oversized floral wallpaper, plush carpeting, cozy chaises and a fireplace, the lounge feels so homey and inviting. We booked an early appointment (10am) so at that hour, we had it all to ourselves!

Guests can help themselves to a cup of tea (Sloane, my favourite) and a light snack in the lounge. Those little granola bites were so good!

At 10, our massage therapists came to greet us and take us to our treatment rooms. I booked the 60-minute relaxation massage and Tania booked the 60-minute stress relief massage (I mean, she’s married to me, so…) Evangeline did my massage, and I honestly think it was the best spa massage I’ve ever had. Sometimes I find spa massages tend to use lighter pressure and aren’t always as effective as going to an individual RMT, but Evangeline really worked the muscles and broke down the knots (I hadn’t gone for a massage in months, so I had a lot!) Tania said the same about her massage therapist Andrew. The St. Regis Spa offers both RMT and non-RMT massages, so make sure you book accordingly if you need an insurance receipt.

The spa offers various other treatments including facials, body scrubs and body wraps. Here’s the salon area where they do manicures and pedicures:

Following our massages, we were taken back to the lounge and offered a complimentary glass of champagne. Such a nice touch!

Clearly I didn’t want to leave…

But eventually, we decided to explore the other amenities, which are included with a minimum spend of $175 on services. The amenities include a steam room, an infrared dry cedar sauna, a heated saltwater infinity lap pool, and a jacuzzi whirlpool.

The pool area is surrounded by tall windows that offer panoramic views of the city from 31 floors up.

One thing I especially love about the St. Regis Spa: unlike some other spas, there’s no strict time limit on amenity usage. They recommend arriving one hour prior to your appointment to enjoy the facilities, and you’re welcome to stay afterwards for as long as you like. Another thing I love is their easy online booking system. Even now, a lot of spas still use notoriously antiquated phone booking systems that are time-consuming, inconvenient and inefficient. Between waiting on hold and going back-and-forth trying to find an available date, I’ve literally spent over half an hour on the phone trying to book a spa treatment. But on the St. Regis Spa’s website, you can select any treatment, easily see all available timeslots on your preferred date, and book immediately. Because when you’re planning a day of relaxation, the last thing you should be feeling is stressed!

Of all the spas I’ve visited in Toronto and Southern Ontario, the St. Regis Spa definitely ranks in my top favourites – if not my new number one! We had a great time and will definitely be back. And if you’re looking to turn your spa day into a true staycation, why not book a room at the St. Regis? I’ve stayed here before and can confirm the hotel is just as lovely as its spa!

Wishing everyone a gentle start to the new year, rooted in rest, self-care… and a healthy dose of indulgence. (Champagne toast optional!)
